Before the denomination, the image of the former land and peasant bank adorned the two hundred thousandth bill. The building of the bank, and now the museum, was built in 1914 in modern style and richly decorated in the neo-Russian style - if you look closely, you can see kokoshniks and a grassy ornament. Inside there is a rich collection of ancient Belarusian art and iconography. One important thing could not be saved here - the cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk. It was disappeared without a trace during World War II.

Whoever occupied the century-old building: in different years there was a bank, the editorial office of the Revolutionary Stavka newspaper, the museum of proletarian culture, the historical museum, the regional committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, and after the CPSU, the editorial office of Mogilevskaya Pravda. Art canvases began to settle in it in 1990. And since recent times - not only canvases.
